John Yasumitsu Iwane, 96, of Captain Cook died June 12, 2013, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Jan. 13, 1917, in Koloa, Kauai, he was a retired county agent for the University of Hawaii Extension Service, chairman of the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union and member of the Kona Lions Club, Boy Scouts of America, Farm Bureau, 4H Club and Christ Church Episcopal.

Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. July 13 at Christ Church Episcopal in Kealakekua for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

He is survived by sons, Robert Iwane of Honolulu, Robin (Cindy) Iwane of Captain Cook; brothers, Jitsuo (Aiko) Iwane of Washington, Harold (Irene) Iwane of Molokai; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
